CSI Dynamic Standards

See related classifications across CSI standards

Move between related classifications in MasterFormat, UniFormat, and OmniClass.

What is a crosswalk?

Crosswalks are links between standards and related classifications. Use a Crosswalk when you have a classification in one CSI standard and want to find related classifications in another.

The application data connects UniFormat Substructure to related MasterFormat work in Concrete and Earthwork.

Crosswalks do not show edition upgrades. Use Transitions to understand changes from MasterFormat 2020 to MasterFormat 2026.

Are Crosswalks and Transitions the same?

No. Crosswalks connect related classifications across different CSI standards. Transitions support upgrades between editions of a standard.

Open a crosswalk

  1. Search for and open the classification you know.
  2. Find Crosswalks on the classification.
  3. Select a related classification.
  4. Confirm its standard and edition in the new tab.

How relationships work

A crosswalk is not necessarily a one-to-one match. One classification may relate to several classifications in another standard, and several classifications may relate to one classification.

Compare related classifications

  • Confirm the source and related standards.
  • Compare classification titles and available explanatory fields.
  • Review parent and child context on both sides.
  • Keep the source record tab open while exploring related classifications.
