Turn MasterFormat, UniFormat, and OmniClass into a Living, Edition-Aligned
Integration
Integrate MasterFormat, UniFormat, and OmniClass into your platform with authorized, edition-aligned data—delivered through APIs and data feeds that stay in sync so your users get the classifications they expect.
Edition-aligned = the system knows which edition applies at each milestone and preserves change history without disrupting work in progress.
For Software & Platforms
Our Platform
For software platforms that serve the AECO industry, CSI Dynamic Standards provides authorized access to MasterFormat, UniFormat and OmniClass standards through APIs and data feeds that keep your application current without manual updates. Search, crosswalks, and classification lookups are available through well-documented endpoints. Your users get the numbers, titles, and classifications they need; you get a single source of truth that updates automatically.
Six Integration
Principles
Trust is a product feature. When your platform shows authorized CSI numbers/titles, autocompletes the right section, and exports clean, consistent classifications, you reduce support churn, prevent downstream RFIs, and become the system teams rely on.
Authorization users recognize
Display authorized MF/UF/OC in the UI and outputs—no scraping, no stale copies—so customers (and their clients) trust what they see.
Edition control + change awareness
Pin an edition for a project, surface change notes on upgrade, and avoid mid-flight shifts that break models, specs, or reports.
Search, filter, and validate—correctly
Power type-ahead, facets, and field validation with consensus-based numbers, titles, and classifications and governed mappings (UF to MF to OC) to cut input errors.
Interop without retyping
Export/import with consistent CSI numbers, titles, or classifications so data moves cleanly into BIM, spec, estimating, PM, and CMMS tools.
Scalable delivery options
Choose Hosted API (SLA) or Data License (self-hosted service) for performance and control.
Developer-friendly QA
Use Navigator internally to deep-link sections, confirm relationships, and debug customer cases fast—without hand-rolled lookup tables.
What You'll Be Able
To Do
using CSI Dynamic Standards™ data.
Model & Document UX — Make the right choice obvious
Enable search/autocomplete for MasterFormat sections; guide early decisions in UniFormat, reveal related MasterFormat sections as projects mature; tag assets with OmniClass for lifecycle views
Validation — Reduce bad inputs at the source
Enforce valid numbers/titles, detect obsolete sections, and keep edition context tied to the project for clean exports and APIs
Exchange — Keep partners in sync
Round-trip MasterFormat, UniFormat and OmniClass in reports, CSV/JSON exports, and integrations so partner systems accept data without remapping
Upgrades — Migrate without breakage
Offer edition-aware upgrades with tested mappings and clear change summaries; let customers pin or advance per-project
Deployment — Fit your architecture
Use the Hosted API for turnkey scale (SLA, supported) or the Data License for full control (self-host/cloud with caching and high availability)
Common Questions
We already have classification fields.
Fields aren't the same as authorized content. This supplies the consensus-based numbers/titles and governed relationships your users expect.
Will this add friction?
Navigator supports product/QA; API/Data License slot into your stack. The goal is fewer custom tables, fewer hotfixes, fewer tickets.
What about performance and limits?
Hosted API includes SLA, latency targets, and fair-use. For low-latency or high-volume needs, choose the Data License and self-host.
We use AI features.
If your AI generates or validates CSI numbers, titles, or classifications, you'll need proper licensing; we'll review your data flows and set the right terms.
