## Relationship mapping between construction standards

A construction crosswalk maps relationships between classifications in different standards. Crosswalk® connects related MasterFormat®, UniFormat®, and OmniClass® classifications in the CDS Platform so you can compare how construction information is organized across specifications, building elements, and built-environment information.

## How do I access Crosswalk in the CDS Platform?

Select Get started to sign up and purchase access to CSI Dynamic Standards. Then sign in to the CDS Platform with the same account. Open a classification, find Crosswalks, and select a related classification to open it in a new tab.

## Are Crosswalks one-to-one matches?

Not necessarily. One classification may relate to several classifications in another standard, and several classifications may relate to one classification.

## How do I compare related classifications?

Confirm the source and related standards and editions. Compare classification titles and available explanatory fields, then review the parent and child context on both sides. Keep the source record open while exploring related classifications.

## Are Crosswalks and Transitions the same?

Crosswalks connect related classifications across different CSI standards. Transitions support changes between editions of the same standard, including MasterFormat 2020 to MasterFormat 2026.
